We have concerns.

We have  viewpoints.

We have the power
to create change.

We have a voice.

As African American women, we are a
powerful force.

And America is taking notice.

You can see it in the headlines – our vote is now coveted, as we’re being recognized as a demographic that is heavily engaged in today’s elections. Now more than ever, black female voters must declare that we will not be manipulated. We have to know all we can about the issues, look beyond political rhetoric to understand candidates’ motivations – and foster the active involvement of one another to fight for equity and justice.

By becoming a member of the Intergenerational Independent Women of Color Voters Bloc, or IIWOC, you can draw on the experience and knowledge of African American women who have driven change for decades. You can share your concerns with women of all generations, get the insight you need to make positive decisions, and put your passion to work for the good of all.

With our collective voices, we can fight for change, both with our vote and with our actions.

The IIWOC Voters Bloc is a collective of women from all parties, all ages, and all walks of life. From young women who haven’t voted before to those who want to run for office, all are welcome. Among our efforts, we will:

  • Hold forums and workshops to help women be heard and gain insight on issues that affect African American women and their families

  • Work on voter registration and education

  • Look at candidates from local to national, evaluate their issues and help people understand how to choose based on what is important to them

  • Teach and train our next generation on how to run campaigns and win elections

The IIWOC Voters Bloc is based in Richmond, Virginia, and membership is free of charge.
Donations are welcome – and we really could use them – but they can’t be
accepted if  they’re a challenge to our objectivity.
