IIWOC was founded by a group of Richmond, Virginia activists who shared a common goal: to harness the power of African American women and use it to generate change. Our leadership includes two former elected officials and three former campaign managers.
President
DR. DELTA BOWERS President of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Richmond Metro Area; Interim Dean, Virginia Union University School of Business.

MIEKO TIMMONS
Former Executive Director, Community of Caring; community activist; 20-year career in public school administration.

Founding member or president of Hope in the Cities, One Voice, Boaz & Ruth, Jail Ministerial Board, Juvenile Justice Commission.

Secretary
PAULA WALLACE
Nurse for 30+ years; Chaplain in the Marine Corps, licensed minister since 1983.

Treasurer
ROBIN EDWARDS Human Resources Manager for Henrico County; involved in missions in Haiti, Honduras, South Africa and Belize.

Communications Director
MARYANN NEARY-GILL
Copywriter for 30+ years, for clients including MADD Virginia, the Uganda Rural Fund, Richmond Behavioral Health and the Department of Justice.

BEVERLY HENDERSON Grew up in Jackson, MS at the height of the Civil Rights Movement; Assistant Dean of Community Affairs and Multicultural Development for an independent high school; ESL teacher in the Middle East.


FLOMESHA “FLO” HOGANRaised by single mom in Mosby Court; purchased first home at age 19; volunteer: Richmond and Henrico schools, Foothold Literacy Program, Cedar Street Baptist Church. Working toward nursing degree.


WILLIE JONES DELL College educator, social worker, and the first African American woman to serve on Richmond City Council.


KATHY WILLIAMS President/CEO of Personal Touch Cleaning Service; self-employed for 25 years;  a voice for single women in leadership and victims of domestic violence.
